I Found These Strange White Pieces Under My Son’s Bed—And I Have No Idea What They Are

Every parent knows that cleaning under a child’s bed can uncover some interesting surprises.

Old toys. Missing socks. Crumbs. The occasional mystery object that you immediately wish you hadn’t found.

But this discovery had me completely stumped.

While cleaning underneath my son’s bed, I found several pale, cream-colored pieces scattered on the floor. They looked almost like chunks of food, but they had a strange, smooth texture and unusual shapes.

What Could They Be?

My first thought was candle wax.

The pieces have a light yellowish-white color and appear fairly solid, with smooth surfaces and rough, broken edges. They look remarkably similar to pieces of wax that have been snapped or broken apart.

Another possibility is soap. Some types of soap can become dry and brittle and may leave behind pieces that look almost identical to what I found.

There are also other possibilities, including craft wax, cosmetic wax, or some kind of household product./

The Location Makes It Even More Mysterious

Finding these pieces under my son’s bed is what really has me curious.

I don’t remember seeing anything like them around the house, and I can’t figure out how several pieces ended up in the same place.

Of course, there may be a perfectly simple explanation. Kids have a remarkable ability to turn ordinary objects into mysterious discoveries!

For now, I’m treating them as an unknown substance rather than assuming they’re harmless. I won’t be tasting them or letting anyone play with them until I know exactly what they are.
