Every night I had the feeling that someone was in my house, so I installed a camera in my room – when I looked at the recordings in the morning, I was truly horrified.😱😲
Every night it was the same feeling – something was in my house.
This feeling didn’t come immediately. First there were noises: quiet, almost imperceptible. The creaking of the floor, as if someone were taking a cautious step. A muffled knock, as if a piece of furniture were being touched. Sometimes a barely audible rustling, as if someone were opening a cupboard or rummaging through things. I lay in the dark and froze, afraid even to breathe.
It seemed to me as if a stranger was walking around the apartment. Not rude, not intrusive—on the contrary, rather too cautious. As if this « someone » knew my house well and didn’t want to draw attention to themselves. I usually heard the footsteps at night, between two and four in the morning, when I felt heavy and dizzy.
Strange things happened in the mornings. Nothing was where I’d put it: my phone was on the bed, even though it had been on the table the night before; my clothes were carelessly thrown onto a chair; there were things on the floor that didn’t belong there. Sometimes the room was in utter chaos, as if someone had been rummaging through the closets. I chalked it all up to tiredness and forgetfulness, telling myself I simply couldn’t remember where I’d put things.
Several times I even woke up in the night with the feeling of being watched. But I didn’t open my eyes – I told myself it was just a dream, a figment of my imagination. Until the fear became all too real.
One morning I woke up shivering and realized: This can’t go on. I installed a camera in my room, pointed it at my bed, and left it running all night. I was sure the camera would show it if there was still someone in the house.
